We're pleased to present a series of case studies that tell our clients' stories to help you get a sense of how Microdesk works and the value we offer.
STV, Incorporated
STV sees productivity improve using Revit.
After our customized training class, a team of student-interns and architects started a new project using Revit Building 9. Initially I had reservations because the team decided to use Revit “out of the box” and disregarded, for the moment, the STV CAD standards. But it was a relatively small project, so I approved it. They took to the software quickly and didn’t require much in the way of extra support. The results speak for themselves:
For a typical project, we invest about 20 manhours per completed D-sized (36” x 24”) sheet using our 2D AutoCAD-based workflow. But on this small project, the team completed drawings (a total of 6 D-sized sheets) in 16.7 hours per sheet – nearly 20% faster. This allowed us to finish the project almost 3 days ahead of schedule.
I’m sold on the value that Revit – and the new building information modeling workflow – can offer to STV.

“…Since yesterday’s seminar, I’ve talked to the 4 senior partners and a number of the other attendees. Their feedback is very positive - they were impressed by your knowledge of the products and the marketplace. The seminar was exactly as I hoped and had just the right balance of technical and business information. The level participation indicated that you presented exactly what was needed. Once again, you’ve shown me that moving to Microdesk was the right move for AHA.”
