Hudson Yards is the largest private real estate development in the U.S. history and its development has dramatically transformed a once desolate space into New York City’s next great neighborhood, shopping epicenter, and more.
Kohn Pedersen Fox – KPF was the lead design firm for the Master Plan for Hudson Yards and partnered with Microdesk starting in 2014 to help coordinate the complex design and identify design efficiencies during the project development process. With Hudson Yards being such a massive project comprising of at least 4-5 separate project team at its height, including structural platform, plaza design, two main office towers and the mall between them, it required Microdesk to dedicate over 20 consultants to the project throughout the years.
Over the years, the team worked closely with KPF to expedite and enhance their BIM knowledge – to further explore how Microdesk acted as a catalyst for improving how KPF designed sustainable superstructures visit our Kohn Pedersen Fox – KPF case study.
To celebrate the opening of such an incredible project we sat down with a few Microdesk consultants who worked extensively on the Hudson Yards project to get their thoughts on seeing a project come to life right before their eyes.
