KPF, one of the world’s leading architecture firms, serves as the lead designer for Hudson Yards, the largest private real estate development in U.S. history. KPF enlisted Microdesk to conduct a business strategy assessment and BIM implementation strategy, teaching tools KPF continues to use on projects throughout the world.
Port Authority of NY and NJ
Microdesk works with the Port Authority of NY and NJ in compiling and supporting troves of data regarding all transitways in the NY metropolitan area. In creating a normalized database structure and ASP.NET portal application, PANYNJ was able to extract, analyze and report data more efficiently.
Microdesk’s team of discipline-specific experts in Architecture, MEP, Civil 3D (Civil and Wastewater) has been instrumental in helping our architects and engineers become more proficient with all the Autodesk software that we use. In addition to training the architects and engineers who use the software, we have engaged them for Project Manager Training and Project BIM Coordinator training, so the project workflows can be improved upon. They have also helped our dedicated support staff improve our standards documentation. In addition to “training” and “standards” type scopes, we have engaged Microdesk for “project mentoring” and “project kickoff and coordination”. We have one of their experts coming in for 2 days per week for a long term engagement, and swapping out different experts for different disciplines has been very well received by my internal clients. They are an important part of our ongoing improvement program.
