Each quarter Microdesk hosts an evening event for professionals across the United States to network, enjoy food and drinks while learning a new skill through a live and interactive presentation from a Microdesk Consultant. The event has traveled to numerous cities this year, from Washington DC to Irvine, CA. The 2018 Tech Tasting theme has been centered around BIM360 Design and how to use the new software technology as a collaboration tool for teams.
On December 6th, Microdesk hosted their last traveling Tech Tasting event for 2018. The event took place in the Chicago area, at Fogo De Chao, a Brazilian steakhouse and drew in 35 AEC professionals. Chris Fercho, AECO Senior Consultant, presented alongside a resident sommelier from Fogo De Chao. The pair traded off presenting; trading a piece of technology for a pairing of food and wine. In total, the guests enjoyed 6 different pairings of food and wine served between each topic of the technical presentation. Chris covered the basics of Connected BIM, an overview of BIM360, BIM360 Docs, BIM360 Design, and how to utilize BIM360 as a project management tool and a central project hub.
After the formal presentation concluded guest were invited to enjoy cocktails during the networking portion of the evening. Many utilized this portion of the evening to get any outstanding questions answered, further discussions with industry professionals and get to know the Microdesk team.
