Asset and Facilities Management Overview
Our approach can be summed up as “Beginning with the End in Mind”. Our holistic approach to Asset Management, also referred to as Facilities Management, looks at the inception of data creation and ensures good stewardship of the data throughout the Asset Lifecycle. Asset management (AM) can be a complex subject especially when considering the difference between AM and Facilities Management (FM). One factor that comes into play in helping separate the two, is the corporate and strategic objectives for the day-to-day management of work that requires completion.
Outside of the facilities/space management area, AM can be broken down into three distinct layers: strategic, data integration and work management. No matter how you define each one, these three areas are always intertwined with each other in some way.
The control and coordination of a project ahead of the Design and Construction Phases, but continuing though operations and maintenance. This lifecycle is controlled by the BIM process but is governed by the Asset Management principles.
Leveraging data regarding the facility for operating and maintaining the building and its assets throughout the facility lifecycle. Keeping this data provides efficiencies such as accurate as- built information for future construction/renovation, current database of asset information and the optimization of building system functions.
Connects Autodesk Revit and the information-driven power of BIM with the enterprise asset management system, IBM® Maximo®. ModelStream™ synchronizes data between IBM Maximo and Autodesk Revit, enabling owners and facility managers to access all space, asset, and maintenance information from a single comprehensive enterprise asset management system.
Organizations’ maintenance solutions mature, and so does the software that you rely on. Scalability means that the software can adapt (not rewrite) to changes within the organization and as you shift from schedule based maintenance to Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). We can advise on software selection, implementation strategies and maintenance optimization.
